Dear all, We might consider looking at this question from two angles: first, what ICANN would like the ccNSO to do; and second, what kind of support from ICANN could help the ccNSO contribute more effectively. Both angles are worth discussing. Regards, ai-chin Stephen Deerhake @ ASNIC via Ccnso-council <ccnso-council@icann.org> 於 2025年10月14日 週二 10:05 寫道:
Jordan,
I like this question a lot. It takes us beyond the financial issue to the larger “what do you really need from us” question, which is long overdue for a discussion by my view point.
Best,
//Stephen

Hi all, hi Alejandra
I don’t have any substantive suggestions to make, but I wonder if it is worth asking them:
In the context of ICANN’s multi-stakeholder model, is there anything else you wish the ccNSO would do to increase its contribution to ICANN’s mission?
I’d be personally curious if there are any unrealised “wants” on their side…
… might just be me, though 😊
Cheers
Jordan

Dear Councillors
This is a kind reminder.

Dear Councillors
As mentioned during our last meeting, we have homework to do. We will need to come up with a list of topics we would like to discuss with the ICANN Board at our joint session in Dublin.
So far we have:
- WSIS+20:
1. Examples of good internet governance and multi stakeholder activities, such as:
1. RSS GWG | Root Server System Governance Working Group 2. ICP-2 | Internet Coordination Policy 2 3. ccNSO PGA | Policy Gap Analysis 4. Topics discussed in the GAC
2. Consistent messages of success in this area. Making sure we are on the same page. 3. Background:
1. https://ccnso.icann.org/sites/default/files/field-attached/reynoso-to-coster... 2. https://ccnso.icann.org/sites/default/files/field-attached/costerton-to-reyn...
Questions form my end: How does it relate to the work of the informal WSIS+20 Discussion Group work? What are we trying to achieve when we raise the topic?
- Unresolved issue from previous joint meetings – Playbook for Bylaw Amendments. Goal is to understand how a bylaw change procedure will be initiated under the different scenarios ) SO/AC request, per review, per PDP and timeline from request to approval/ non-rejection
1. First mentioned in Hamburg (Oct 2023) 2. A Playbook was promised in Istanbul (Nov 2024) 3. In Seattle (Mar 2025) ICANN Legal mentioned at the SO/AC Chairs Roundtable that the Playbook was going to be shared in a couple of weeks
As you saw in the email we received from Tripti, the Board would like to have our topics/questions by Friday 17 October. Sounds a bit far, but time flies! Please use this thread to suggest your topics as soon as possible.
Best regards, Alejandra
