Dear councillors. ICANN Constituency Travel informed the ccNSO Secretariat that, following a periodic internal review of their processes, it was decided to make a program change to the internal deadlines for the tri-annual ICANN meetings, in an effort to reduce visa denial rates. Visa denials, in most cases, were due to inadequate processing time for the visa application process to be properly vetted by the local government. Moving forward, all tri-annual meeting funded traveller lists are due 120 days prior to the next ICANN meeting. (This was formerly 90 days prior). The deadline change will be implemented, starting with ICANN64 in Kobe, Japan (9-14 Mar 2019). The REVISED deadline date to submit the ICANN64 ccNSO funded traveller list to ICANN will be on FRIDAY, 9 NOVEMBER. The application window for the broader ccTLD community to apply for travel funding will open on Thu, 4 Oct 2018 and will close on Thu, 18 Oct 2018, as decided by the Travel Fund Committee. Around that time, I will reach out to the council members individually, to see who will take the funding for ICANN64. (one slot per region + 3 slots for NomCom appointed council members) Thank you.
