Dear Councillors, Demi Getschko has indicated that he will not re-stand for another term on the ICANN Board. On Wednesday you will therefore be asked to agree on a timeline for the selection of an ICANN Board member to fill the ccNSO seat which will become vacant in May 2009. Below is the suggested timeline for this. Gabi 05 November -08: Appointment of election manager and approval of timeline 17 November -08: Call for nominations of candidate to ICANN Board 08 December -08: Closure of nomination period 15 December -08: Acceptance of nominations by candidate, Announcement of nominees, If 2 or more candidates = member election. Announcement if election needed. Candidates are allowed to submit mission statement 05 January -09: End of period for submitting mission statements. If wished for, a call with Q&A session for candidates & ccNSO members can be arranged. 12 January -09: Last date for arranging Q&A session 19 January -09: Call for vote, ballots are issues 02 February -09: Closure of voting 09 February -09: Announcements of election results If ties - announcement of run off elections (to be conducted in time before Mexico meeting).
