Thanks Bart.
All,
Apparently a deal on the US budget resolution is expected to emerge this afternoon in DC that the Senate could approve as early as tonight. It would not include any mention of IANA. Whilst Senator Cruz could try to filibuster, it appears that he could only delay a final vote until Friday. So we MAY know 'where we are at' in the next 12 hours or, on the other hand, we may not!
Cheers,
Chris

Dear all, As you know the IANA Stewardship Transition is scheduled to take place on 1 October 2016, however as you will also be aware it is still discussed in Washington, USA. Just out of precaution, given the importance of the transition for the ccTLD community and ccNSO, and for the event there is a hick-up in the transition process over the next days and at the request of Katrina, there is tentatively an informal ccNSO Council call tentatively scheduled for Monday 3 October noon UTC. Chris and Mike are also invited to attend this informal call.
Purpose of the call is to take stock of the situation and initially discuss possible steps in the event the transition will not occur as foreseen.
Kim will send out a calendar invite to the Council list, including the dial in details. Closer to the Monday we will re-confirm, or, hopefully, cancel the meeting.
Kind regards, Bart
