FYI From: So-ac-sg-cleaders [mailto:so-ac-sg-cleaders-bounces@icann.org] On Behalf Of Olivier MJ Crépin-Leblond Sent: Monday, April 30, 2018 11:30 AM To: so-ac-sg-cleaders@icann.org Subject: [So-ac-sg-cleaders] Update on proposal for a Cross Community Engagement Group (CCEG) Dear SO/AC/SG/C/RALO leaders: As you may be aware the Cross Community Working Group on Internet Governance (CCWG-IG), learning the concerns expressed by the GNSO regarding its status as a Cross Community Working Group, has drawn up a Charter for a proposed Cross Community Engagement Group (CCEG-IG). In contrast to the recently agreed requirements for a CCWG, the CCEG proposed would not have a defined end-date or a final objective. It would, though allow SOs and ACs to charter it just like a CCWG. This proposal was made in February 2018 in order to obtain feedback from the then chartering organisations of the CCWG and the working group is yet to receive formal feedback in order to make this a charter that's suitable to replace the CCWG. The CCWG IG co-chairs understand that there might be questions arising from the proposed CCEG and the proposed charter (which is attached).. We would therefore be available to come to your meeting at ICANN62 to explain the charter and to listen to your suggestions on how to improve it. Please liaise with Nigel Hickson in the GE team (nigel.hickson@icann.org <mailto:nigel.hickson@icann.org> ) and us in order to arrange for a slot in your agenda. Kindest regards, Olivier MJ Crépin-Leblond (co-chair for ALAC) Young Eum Lee (co-chair for ccNSO)
