All, Personally I would like to see the cc "what we do" individual reports structured around a subject ( ex. introduction IPV6, handling IDNs in a Romance World, Multicasting etc.etc.). and the workshop in individual round table discussions. Each presenter could speak for 2 minutes on their subject to attract people to their round table discussion. Then attendees could attend the table of their choice for some real discussion on the subject. I know that round table discussions do not fit our room format - but could maybe be handled by a lunch or breakfast. I confess the current format plus jetlag, puts me straight to sleep. I think the council should identify the objectives of the ccNSO member's meetings, such as... - To establish relevant policy recommendations for the ICANN Boards consideration - To share experiences and initiatives and their results and rationale - To provide other relevant input into the ICANN communities and its respective constituencies - To promote and disseminate good practice (whatever that means) - or whatever Perhaps, and only perhaps, some guidelines to include presentations from peers or from non-peers, or some combination. And also some budget, if any, to facilitate speakers - travel, remote video, accommodation, etc. etc., etc. Then, leave it up to the meeting organiser to fill the program - with input from the community (including but not limited to the Chair or Council) on topics and suggested speakers. Personally, I think that there should always be: - Engagement with the GAC, with the gNSO - Opportunities with ALAC - Opportunities for the Regional Organization - Opportunities for the host - Opportunities from the Technical Communities - Opportunities for ICANN Board and Management - Opportunities for the Registrars Communities The ccNSO has, effectively, three days available to it, based on recent meetings. That's a fair amount of time and while other things are happening in parallel, I think much can be achieved in this time frame. My 2cents worth. While I agree with Lesley and with Oscar that we should avoid sending the message that we do not want participation, I think that it is a good idea to offer two options for would-be speakers: "in depth" presentations or "quick update" presentations. Obviously, there cannot be too many of the longer ones, so we should encourage people to try to fit what they want to say in the shorter format.

Providing an improved structure for this information exchange is good, but by only allocating 50 minutes for this (which is what your email seems to suggest) would not seem to be so good.

Dear all,
The ccTLD Update session is an important part of the ccNSO meeting agenda where the participants have a chance to learn more about ccTLDs from around the world. However, as we have more and more interested speakers for this session, we felt that we need to give it a slight structure.
For the upcoming ccNSO meeting in Mexico and following ccNSO meetings, we are therefore suggesting following format:
- Presentations from ccTLDs which have something to report on new developments within their registry will be prioritised, but we can only allow for three such presentations. - "Status update" presentations will be limited to a maximum of two speakers per meeting. Preference will be given to registries that have not given any update within the last 12 months. - Each presenter will have 10 minutes for their presentation.
We regret that we need to put a limit on the number of presentations, however, we hope you understand that these changes are necessary in order to be able to use the meeting time as efficiently as possible.
