In two cases we did not receive a nomination in time in the past, and we have handled the situation differently: In 2009, there was no nomination for the European region the Council decided to extend the nomination period for all regions. In 2012, there was no nomination for the North American region the nomination period for the North American region only was extended. I suggest that we extend the nomination period for the North American region only, until Saturday, 9 November 00.00 UTC. unless someone objects by Tuesday, 5 October 5 pm UTC, ONLY the nomination period for the North American region will be extended until Saturday, 9 November 00.00 UTC., assuming of course the NA council members will nominate and second a candidate.
