Dear all, On 25 April, the New gTLD Subsequent Procedures Policy Development Process Working Group held webinars on geographic names at the top level. With ICANN59 fast approaching, this email provides information about activities in Johannesburg that will build on the webinars. There will be two extended cross-community sessions at ICANN59 to clarify key policy issues, build a shared understanding of community interests and concerns, develop options that could gain broad community support, and start down a path to consensus on a comprehensive proposal that can be accepted by the ICANN community. Sessions will be open to the entire community, including remote participants. The sessions are scheduled for: * Tuesday 27 June from 17:00 to 18:30 local time<https://schedule.icann.org/event/B3pX/cross-community-discussion-geographic-...> * Thursday 29 June from 15:15 to 18:30 local time<https://schedule.icann.org/event/B3pD/cross-community-discussion-geographic-...> ICANN has retained the services of David Fairman and Julia Golomb from Consensus Building Institute<http://www.cbuilding.org/> (CBI) to facilitate the sessions. After reviewing all of the proposals, the co-chairs have drafted a strawperson that includes elements from as many of the webinar proposals as possible. Note that the purpose of this strawperson is stimulate discussion on potential compromise. The co-chairs can answer questions about the substance of the document but will not advocate for it. There will be no repetition of the webinar presentations in the ICANN59 sessions.
