Ok, with me. However, just to note that I find that the telephone network, for some reason, almost always disconnects my call at 60 minutes duration and I have to ask Gabi or Kristina for a reconnection. It is my hope that time dependent disrruptions of this kind will be alleviated as we move more and more successfully to AdobeConnect or such like platforms, even for voice. Hi,
In our recent Council calls, we have struggled to keep our time needed to discuss Council business to 60 minutes or less.
This is partly because of the sheer number of items that we need to share information about, to discuss or come to a Council decision upon. As you will have noticed, as Chair, I have endeavoured to keep the calls to time and speed us through our business. However, I am concerned that this might sometimes truncate debate or conversations. In addition, when we go over 60 minutes, some Council members need to leave the call, due to other meetings etc.
For this reason, I have asked the Secretariat to extend our meeting time for the next 3 calls to 75 minutes - an increase of 15 minutes. I do hope that Council members and observers will agree that this is the best way of dealing with this matter and that you will be able to add this time to your schedules. I propose that we then review at our Council meeting in Durban. I hope that this will be OK with everyone.
Kind regards,
Lesley
