Dear Councillors, Over the last CENTR GA in Greece, Antoin Vershuren from .nl reported about CENTR tech group activities. He indicated that there had been general discussions about DNSSEC in the CENTR tech. Considering that some TLD operators had asked for the root to be signed, I asked him if there would be any problem if the root was signed, in particular for those TLDs that hadn't signed their zone. Is response was a clear and franc: "NO", there is no problem for the root to be signed". I then launched this discussion in the CENTR tech mailing list, and I had no objections for the root to be signed from those ccs that were not signed, I even had couple of explicit responses from some of them saying that, as unsigned ccs, they wouldn't see any problem for the root to be signed from a ccTLD point of view. I would appreciate to have input from other ccs in other regions submiting this question to then. Kindest regards, -- Olivier Guillard ccNSO IANA WG Chair
