At the risk of overselling, let me say o while the root server system is very much a technical and operational function, what we have in front of us definitely is a governance/policy issue o that said, i consider the issue similarly fundamental for the RSS as the FOI (and subsequently, retirement and review mechanism) was and is for the ccNSO/ccTLDs o the issue touches upon cross community policy making and, in combination with the ASO's work on ICP-2, and, partly, our own work on (part of) the potential policy gaps, which eventually converge on the road of, hopefully, successful governance within ICANN's MSM What's in it for us? o What role are ccTLDs able and willing to play in the governance structure (GS) (as direct customers of the RSS), including the evolution of the GS itself? o What's our stance on the vision for (developing) financing for the RSS and the RSS GS?
