Dear all, Upon request of the geoTLD.group, I am hereby forwarding you a survey on General Data Protection Regulation [GDPR]. The deadline to provide feedback is 3 May 2017. This survey has been sent to geoTLD.group members, RySG and RrSG members, the ccNSO, ICANN accredited Escrow Providers and any relevant data operator within the ICANN community. The Survey, its analyses and its results are run and sponsored by the geoTLD.group. The information gathered will remain under the responsibility of the geoTLD.group but aggregate results will be made available to the ICANN community at large, free of charge. Access to the survey's raw data will also be available at the group’s discretion upon request. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/GeoTLD-ccNSO-GDPR[surveymonkey.com]<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__www.surveymonkey.com_r_GeoTLD-2DccNSO-2DGDPR&d=DwMF-g&c=FmY1u3PJp6wrcrwll3mSVzgfkbPSS6sJms7xcl4I5cM&r=HyTT2ymvadmiQcmo6B088sWOukGjEbibHJ64u5rMiME&m=M4jX4lVK7JPcMkkFJ34A_taL_71cTI0gwceBic82OWw&s=a0vSril3JF6HvkbPbcpGSaZLqGtdXJnFMc84wKMNP4Y&e=> – Answer now, before 3 May 2017. Background The General Data Protection Regulation [GDPR] is a European Union body of laws regulating the way personal data may be gathered, used, stored and transferred. Its impact is European and worldwide as it endeavours to regulate data pertaining to European citizens and residents wherever their data might be gathered, used or stored. While GDPR has been in force since 25 May 2016, it will apply in full starting 25 May 2018. The geoTLD.group is an international non-for-profit membership association. The group represents the interests of geographic top-level domains identifying a city, region, language or culture. The members are governments, companies and associations. The geoTLD.group is an association member of the Registry Stakeholder Group. The GDPR Survey The aim of this survey is to gather information about solutions currently being deployed or developed by registry operators to address GDPR with a view to identifying the number of different solutions being deployed, determine those that have been met by local Data Protection Agency [DPA] approval and where the thought leaders might be. The Survey does not aim to assess the merits of the solutions, but rather to understand the range of solutions that are currently being implemented to address the GDPR so that we might be able to provide relevant and practical input to any policy discussions. Given the very short time frame given for possible implementation (25 May 2018), the Survey aims at gathering information ahead of Policy so that it is available as soon as Policy is agreed upon to find the better (if any) implementation course. The GDPR Implementation Survey will run in 2 stages: 1. An online questionnaire: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/GeoTLD-ccNSO-GDPR[surveymonkey.com]<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__www.surveymonkey.com_r_GeoTLD-2DccNSO-2DGDPR&d=DwMF-g&c=FmY1u3PJp6wrcrwll3mSVzgfkbPSS6sJms7xcl4I5cM&r=HyTT2ymvadmiQcmo6B088sWOukGjEbibHJ64u5rMiME&m=M4jX4lVK7JPcMkkFJ34A_taL_71cTI0gwceBic82OWw&s=a0vSril3JF6HvkbPbcpGSaZLqGtdXJnFMc84wKMNP4Y&e=> 2. Interviews of implementation leaders The questionnaire will run between 5 April 2017 and 3 May 2017. Its results will help the geoTLD.group to define leaders to approach and interview before or during ICANN 59 – Johannesburg.
