announcement appointed members to RZERC and EC Administration
Dear All, Stephen Deerhake (.as) appointed as member of the EC Administration According to the ICANN Bylaws (https://www.icann.org/resources/pages/bylaws-2016-02-16-en), the ccNSO is one of the associates or Decisional Participants of the Empowered Community (EC). The ccNSO, as decisional participant, shall act through its chair or another person as may be designated by the ccNSO. At its meeting on 1 September (https://ccnso.icann.org/about/council/minutes.htm#2016) , the ccNSO Council adopted the ccNSO Guideline: Appointment of the ccNSO Representative on the Empowered Community (EC) Administration. (https://ccnso.icann.org/workinggroups/ccnso-rep-ec-appointment-guidelines-01...) After closure on on 30 September 2016 of a call for volunteers among the ccNSO council members, Stephen Deerhake (.as), ccNSO councilor from the North American region, was appointed as member of the EC Administration, to replace Katrina Sataki (.lv) with immediate effect. Link to the announcement: https://ccnso.icann.org/announcements/announcement-30sep16-en.htm Appointment Peter Koch (.de) as member of the RZERC following a call for EoI Katrina Sataki, chair to the ccNSO council, was the interim member of the Root Zone Evolution Review Committee (RZERC), which has been established a part of the IANA Stewardship Transition. (https://ccnso.icann.org/announcements/announcement-15aug16-en.htm) Following adoption of the ccNSO Guideline (https://ccnso.icann.org/workinggroups/ccnso-rzerc-guideline-01sep16-en.pdf ), the CCNSO Council launched a call for Expression of Interest (EoI) (https://ccnso.icann.org/announcements/announcement-09sep16-en.htm) to seek one (1) ccNSO appointed member on the RZERC from the ccTLD community, to replace Katrina Sataki. The call for EoI closed on 23 September 2016. Earlier this week, following the closure of the call for volunteers, the ccNSO council appointed Peter Koch as the member to the RZERC. Other candidates were Luis Diego Espinoza and Jaap Akkerhuis.
