Council Approval IDN ccPDP Draft Board Report ( by 23 August 2013)
Dear all, Please find included the draft Board Report for approval by the Council by 23 August 2013. Once approved, the report will be finalized ( insert the date of approval) and send to the ICANN Board of Directors. The draft Board Report is structured in a similar way as the Final and Members Report: 0 Executive summary 1.Background and Introduction ( more concise, if compared with the previous reports) 2. ccNSO Recommendation ( two-parts) 3. Process to date ( more extended, no next steps described) Included are now also A reference to the Final Report ( Annex C) Reference to the Members Report ( Annex D) Copy of notification of the chair of the GAC ( Annex E) If you have any comments etc. please send them to the list or me directly as soon as possible. Next steps: After approval of the Board Report, the Issue Manger has to submit the report to the ICANN Board of Directors. Once submitted, the Board will meet to discuss the Report and take a vote ( section 15 Annex B), potentially pending the receipt of GAC advise or opinion. Background With adoption of the ccNSO Council Recommendation by the membership, it has now become a ccNSO Recommendation and ready to be conveyed to the ICANN Board of Directors. Dear Bart, A minor editorial point on page 32 : in the paragraph starting with "In accordance with the Bylaws ...", there is a description "... formally informed the chair of the GAC chair of receipt of ...", where the second 'chair' should be deleted. Dear all, Please find included the draft Board Report for approval by the Council by 23 August 2013. Once approved, the report will be finalized ( insert the date of approval) and send to the ICANN Board of Directors.
The draft Board Report is structured in a similar way as the Final and Members Report:
0 Executive summary 1.Background and Introduction ( more concise, if compared with the previous reports) 2. ccNSO Recommendation ( two-parts) 3. Process to date ( more extended, no next steps described)
Included are now also A reference to the Final Report ( Annex C) Reference to the Members Report ( Annex D) Copy of notification of the chair of the GAC ( Annex E)
If you have any comments etc. please send them to the list or me directly as soon as possible. Next steps: After approval of the Board Report, the Issue Manger has to submit the report to the ICANN Board of Directors. Once submitted, the Board will meet to discuss the Report and take a vote ( section 15 Annex B), potentially pending the receipt of GAC advise or opinion.
Background With adoption of the ccNSO Council Recommendation by the membership, it has now become a ccNSO Recommendation and ready to be conveyed to the ICANN Board of Directors.
According to the ccPDP rules (section 14, Annex B). The ccNSO Recommendation needs to be included in a report to be approved by the Council and then to be submitted to be Board. Also according to section 14 the Board Report must at least contain the following: a. A clear statement of the ccNSO recommendation (included, section 2 of the draft Report) b. The Final Report submitted to the Council (pro forma included in Annex C of the draft Report: with a link to the report); and c. the Members' Report. Pro Forma included as Annex D: with a link to the report)
