Hi all - Today the GNSO had their council call and Sally Costerton gave a short update on the topic of the Net Mundial. I thought I'd give a quick update to Councillors on this rather than wait till the next liaison written report. Sparked by a question from John Berard relating to the ccTLD concerns on participation (raised at the recent ccNSO call)- Sally Costerton encouraged emphatically that registration is open to all with no restrictions. Sally re-iterated this several times also noting that at present there is no foreseen issues with capacity (around 900) and there will be a comprehensive remote participation system made available. Note: expressions of interest for the meeting close tomorrow (28th feb) - http://netmundial.org/ Sally also encouraged communities to take a look at the recent report <https://www.icann.org/en/news/presentations/bcg-internet-economy-27jan14- en.pdf> from the Boston Consulting Group on economic impacts of e-friction and the risks of fragmentation. There are 65 country dashboards within the report.
