The ICANN Pandemic Internet Access Reimbursement Program aims to facilitate the active participation in ICANN Public Meetings Meeting for certain community members with limited Internet capacity by offering financial assistance to increase their Internet bandwidth during the meeting. Registration for ICANN74 Policy Forum in The Hague, Netherlands is Now Open Registration for ICANN74 (13-16 June 2022) in The Hague, Netherlands is now open. ICANN74 will take place as a hybrid event to accommodate both in-person and virtual participation. While the ICANN74 Policy Forum presents the first opportunity for the community to come together in more than two years, the health and safety of all community members and staff continues to be ICANN's key priority. Information Sharing NEW: In-Person Meetings Planned for Los Angeles Revert to Virtual as COVID Cases Rise This week the ICANN Board of Directors is convening for our second Board Workshop of 2022. It had been planned as our first face-to-face meeting since January of 2020. In addition to this meeting, the Supporting Organization and Advisory Committee (SO/AC) chairs had been working with ICANN Org to hold an in-person Roundtable session three days before the workshop. These meetings will now be virtual. Read More. NEW: ICANN Preparing to Launch the Pilot Holistic Review The Organizational Effectiveness Committee (OEC) of the ICANN Board is responsible for leading the ICANN Board's review and oversight in several areas, such as the organizational and specific reviews mandated by the Bylaws. The Final Report of the Third Accountability and Transparency Review Team (ATRT3) includes five recommendations made of 15 components, one of them being the setting of a recurring Holistic Review. THIS WEEK: ICANN Launches the 2022 LAC Domain Names Week ICANN is pleased to announce that registration is now open for the Latin American and Caribbean event, "LAC Domain Names Week." This three-day event will be held entirely virtually from Tuesday to Thursday, 26 - 28 April 2022, starting each day at 14:00 UTC. Its theme this year is "Shaping the Future of a Secure and Resilient DNS." To register for this event please click here. REMINDER: Request for Input - GNSO Statement of Interest The GNSO Council has recently embarked on a review of its Statement of Interest (SOI) requirements to determine whether these are still fit for purpose, and if not, what updates should be considered. To this end, the GNSO SOI Task Force (TF) was formed. As part of its assignment, the TF is reaching out to the ICANN community to solicit input on the current use and experience with SOIs as well as suggestions for possible improvements. We understand that some of you may use the SOI, either in its current form or a modified format, for your own purposes. We would be interested to hear about those experiences as well as any lessons learned that may help inform our recommendations. You are encouraged to share this information with your respective groups. To provide input, please complete the following survey by Wednesday, 4 May. Your input will be much appreciated! REMINDER: Call for Expressions of Interest: ICANN 2023 NomCom Chair and Chair-Elect ICANN org seeks Expressions of Interest for the chair and chair-elect of the 2023 Nominating Committee (NomCom). Expressions of Interest, which will be maintained as confidential, should be sent to NomComChair2023@icann.org by no later than Monday, 9 May 2022. REMINDER: ICANN's 2022 Middle East DNS Forum to Take Place Virtually in May ICANN org's eighth Middle East Domain Name System (DNS) Forum will take place virtually from Monday-Wednesday, 16-18 May 2022 and will offer a closer look at the evolving DNS ecosystem from a technical and policy perspective.
