Dear Nicklas, Thank you for informing us about your change in affiliation. As you can imagine, it has several implications, and the Council leadership team and Secretariat seek your guidance. The ccNSO is a body for an by ccTLD managers. Since you no longer represent .se and confirmed your intention to stay involved in ccNSO matters, I have listed below the various implications and actions required. Firstly, regarding your role as member in the various ccNSO working groups and committees, including the leadership roles as Vice Chair of the Tech WG and TLD-OPS. Membership in ccNSO working groups or committees is open to all representatives of ccTLD managers (members and non-members of the ccNSO). Members are appointed under assumption they are directly related to a ccTLD manager (even if the person is not directly associated with the registry), or in their capacity as member of Council. Could you please send us a written statement of a ccTLD manager, that you have their support to be listed as member of the ccNSO working group or committee? The name of the working group or committee should be specified. On the member list of the group, your affiliation would be listed as “supported by” and the respective ccTLD. Secondly, you were appointed by Council as alternate to the CSC. Council will meet next week, and your change in affiliation and the impact on your appointment will be a topic on the agenda. I will let you know once I have further information. Finally, while representing .se, you were recently elected by ccNSO members from the European region as a ccNSO Council member, with your term set to begin at the conclusion of the ICANN82 Community Forum in March 2025. Should you decide to take your seat on the Council in March, it is expected that you inform the European ccNSO membership about your change in affiliation. I am happy to forward any such notification you may wish to draft to the Emissaries from the European region. As outlined in the relevant ccNSO Guideline, (section 3.1)<https://ccnso.icann.org/sites/default/files/field-attached/guideline-ccnso-c...>: “A Councillor can be any individual nominated, seconded, and elected as described in this Guideline. Individuals are elected in their personal capacity and serve the ccTLD community. Councillors do not represent the views and interests of their employers.” The ccNSO Secretariat will consult with the ccNSO members from the European region to confirm their continued support for you as their Council representative. Additionally, the Council leadership team seeks guidance from your former employer to understand if they have concerns or formal objections should you intend to assume your role on the ccNSO Council in a private capacity. This process aligns with the ccNSO Guideline and past practices when Council members have left their employers (ccTLD managers) or changed ccTLD affiliations during their term. I am happy to assist in case you have questions or concerns! Thank you for your feedback. Best regards. I hope you had a wonderful holiday season. Yes, I left .SE just before the holidays. Currently, I’m doing some consultancy work through my own company, though none of it is directly tied to the domain industry. That said, my plan is to remain active within the domain industry and continue my engagement with ccNSO. However, I may not be able to attend the Seattle meeting in person due to travel funding constraints. Would I need a formal affiliation to comply with the bylaws? If so, I’ll look into arranging that. All the best, Nicklas On 6 Jan 2025, at 16:24, Joke Braeken <joke.braeken@icann.org> wrote: Hi Nicklas! I am looking forward to your feedback, and happy to jump on a call, if that is helpful. Best and thanks.
