Some of us have .COM domains that we've had for many years, but which make us no money at all. I've had my .com since 2003 or 2004; I don't sell anything, I don't have any ads, and I have never made money from the domain. I've had it a long time, though, so I don't want to lose it because the price becomes too high to make keeping it reasonable.

As a small business I simply can’t afford any more price gouging on my domain names. Simple as that. If version and ICANN want to insure that their greed doesn’t ruin small businesses world wide then they won’t implement the pricing structure they’ve proposed. Hello, I am a small business owner. I can not afford the increased yearly fees that will go into effect according the changes in the contract with Verisign. My income will not increase more than 70% over the next decade to keep up with the projected 70% price increase over the next decade. Please do not hurt small business like mine with the price increases. I use my domain as part of my marketing and helping clients find me. If I have to cancel my domain name it will be hard for clients to find me which will have a negative effect on my business and its growth. There are so many other businesses like mine that will suffer financially with such drastic increases. The CPI increases are only about 2-3% a year. Please come up with a better non-destructive plan. I am opposed to the contract proposal b/t ICANN and Verisign that will allow for significant price increases for registering a .COM domain. This will impact a very large number of people who already incur significant costs for maintaining .COM registrations. We deserve more information as to the benefits and justifications for this new contract. This is truly a monopoly situation and we deserve to have this contract proposal made public and reviewed for fairness by the appropriate government agencies. Sincerely, Brian Olzinski

I am a registrant of a .com domain name. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. This is common technology trend to decrease infrastructure services. Let VeriSign to improve their infrastructure. ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public interest. Like really, You keep doing these changes without telling anyone and it needs to stop. Just leave it how it is. Do you realize how many 18 cent fees I've paid just to have you guys go and let people fuck up the .org domain and now the .com domain. Do we need to replace y'all with someone who will actually support the people who make the internet great rather than Verisign? Come on.
