Hi! I run a small guitar teaching buisness and am proud to use the .com in my website address. Namecheap.com <http://namecheap.com/> provide me with my domain name and small reasonable yearly re-registration charge. PLEASE do not start increasing the re-registration fee hugely- otherwise people like me will have to go to another less professional looking domain name! Thanks in advance! To whom it may concern, I disagree with the changes that this amendment (3) will make to the domain registry system. I believe that this increase of fees will stifle innovation and takes the web further towards privatization and big money. I know that I would not have taken as many opportunities or risks if prices were significantly higher and domains were a larger cost of business. I urge you to reconsider these changes and reject this amendment. Best, Trent Thomas

Then new agreement with verisign will likely result in a price spike for domain registration of .com domains. This will likely make them inaccessible to many rank and file users. Please reconsider this. Sent from my iPhone

Greetings, To any 7 year old, there are perfectly obvious right and wrong things to do. Adults confuse them by rationalising the wrong things they themselves have been caught doing, to avoid cognitive dissonance. Please try to use acceptable ethical business behaviour going forward. The current morally bankrupt approach enriches half a dozen people to an obscene level. It is about greed, and greed only. Vinnie.

The internet is supposed to be an accessible place where people can have an equal voice. Raising the prices on domains creates a barrier of accessibility that ruins the spirit of the freedom of the internet. It should be as easy and financially accessible for my dad to start a website as it is for Google to. Raising the costs this much sets a dangerous standard/precedent. To Whom It May Be Concerned: It has been called to my attention that ICANN and Versign have collaborated without any feedback from internet users like us to substantially increase the fees associated with .com domains over the next ten years. What you are proposing will result in a 70% increase in costs to us over that period of time. On behalf of our organization, which is small enough to be significantly impacted by such changes, I want to register my LOUD PROTEST to these changes and the multi-million dollar payoff agreed upon to ICANN behind closed doors. It is one thing to propose ‘reasonable’ price increases consistent with inflation, but 7% per year increases is both unreasonable and greedy. I urge you to reconsider this absurd price increase proposal and find a solution that will not gouge those you supposedly serve. Thank you for taking this objection seriously. Large companies and entities with high incomes may not feel the pinch, but the average user like us who use these domains to share information with little financial gain will feel it deeply. Cavin T.
