I am a registrant of a .com domain name. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. No one other than Verisign want increases in .COM prices. The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry – it has no business dictating the price. ICANN has apparently made changes in secret, without consulting or incorporating feedback from the ICANN community or Internet users and I'd like to see more transparency for this and all future changes alike. ᐧ

To Whom It May Concern, I strongly oppose Proposed Amendment 3 to the .COM Registry Agreement. If Amendment 3 is approved, .COM wholesale domain prices could grow by more than 70% above current prices over the next decade. These price increases will be prohibitive to many users. It's important that the Internet remain a place where anyone, regardless of income level, can speak their mind by publishing a website. Many users will be forced to lose their existing domain names with the price increase, and many new users will be unable to purchase a new domain. It's crucial that the dissemination of information on the Internet remain open to all. This is why I oppose Proposed Amendment 3. Thank you for your time. Sincerely, Marilyn

As a web developer and entrepreneur I am sending this email in regards to the price increases to domain names schedule to change via ICANN and Verisign. With so many expenses now with operating a website, increasing the domain prices does not need to happen. I strongly disagree with this process and request that you do not increase the prices. This decision will impact not only small businesses operating websites but also the people developing them. Do not raise the prices of domain names. Thank you, Craig Smith

The collusion between ICANN and Verisign should be ended immediately. Deals in the shadows does not speak well of either organization. Please put the greed on hold and discuss a plan with transparency.

We currently live in a world where the internet is an integral part of our daily lives and society as a whole. This means that websites are becoming something more and more people need and will use. One crucial part of that is the domain name, which allows a website/service to be shared and accessed by the world (more easily, though many web hosts require a domain name to be applied to their hosting services). So I feel as though keeping the costs of domain names down is something that is pretty important, considering how it directly affects such a large portion of the world. Sure, the price increase may seem small, but there are many people who use the internet to create and share ideas and who do not have much in the way of funding to begin with. There is the potential to have many talented individuals lose their ability to maintain a website and internet presence. Again, while to many, the dollar amount may seem trivial, but you have to remember all ends of the spectrum, where there are some who could greatly benefit from a TLD, but aren't able to easily afford it.
