To Whom This May Concern, Please do not continue with the proposed agreement. The amendment will make it harder for every individual to get a domain name as the prices will be increased significantly. When I bought my first domain name I was so happy because the price was affordable and allowed me to have my own space on the internet where I could express my ideas freely. I wouldn't have been able to afford my first domain that kickstarted my business if the prices were higher. Please reconsider the amendment and keep domain names accessible to all. The internet and us, the community have created extensive wealth from .com business and projects. Governments have collected billions in taxes and THEY should pay the bill for any upgrade you propose instead of getting into our pockets. We are small online business owners who depend on our .COM domain as a platform to compete with larger corporations. Increasing fees on .COM domains will have little effect on massive multinational brands and corporations but will continue to pinch small business, making it more difficult for people like us to support ourselves and the local economy. We strongly disagree with this deal made by ICANN and Verisign and are frustrated that a open public forum and consultation was not even granted for the small people like us to have a voice. This is not how an open democracy works and we demand to have ICANN cease this arrangement until open public consultation (as required) has been taken. John

I am very opposed to the new ICANN Contract with Verisign. It will lead to huge price increases for .com registrations and its terms were not adequately discussed in public. Given the tremendous level of control that ICANN and Verisign will exercise over the Internet, fairness demands much more transparency and public input. Please cancel this new contract and initiate a process to elicit public and stakeholder input before creating any new agreement. Hello, ICANN team. I'm against the .COM price increases that are planned to occur in the following months. Democratization of the web across the world requires that domains are accessible and for everybody regarding their location or purchasing capacity, and you have done an amazing job over the years to meet this goal. I am opposed to this deal with Verisign concerning Domain names that you agreed to behind closed doors for money. Why is there no public imput. The governing body should be investigated for these issues.

I believe the new amendments will, over time add more restrictions and risk for new businesses looking to get started online. I think it's a poor decision overall. Prices will rise and with the already rising cost of domain hosting, it's already more than what many new businesses can afford. Let's keep it the way it is. Amanda Piasta

I am a registrant of multiple .com domain names. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public interest. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry and it has no business dictating the price. Please reject Proposed Amendment 3, or alternatively limit the price increases to 2% per year. The web, and global DNS, were envisioned to be run for the public good, and they SHOULD be run for the public good. Deals such as this constitute a clear conflict—not to mention an abnegation of the public trust—and are an abdication of that mandate; short-sighted profit chasing at the expense of the greater good.
