[Comments-com-amendment-3-03jan20] Proposed Amendment 3 to the .COM Registry Agreement
by S Kandula Feb. 10, 2020

Feb. 10, 2020
I am a registrant of a .com domain name. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. No one other than Verisign want increases in .COM prices. The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry – it has no business dictating the price. ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public interest. kandula Warfield, England United Kingdom Sent from Mail<https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=550986> for Windows 10

[Comments-com-amendment-3-03jan20] Proposed Amendment 3 to the .COM Registry Agreement
by Tom Kingston Feb. 10, 2020

Feb. 10, 2020
Hello, I think that the registrations of the primary domain extension of the internet should not be a "for profit" enterprise. This includes the entire supply chain of the endeavor, including the manager of the .COM registry (Verisign). Ultimately, ICANN should dictate the prices, and any 3rd parties to the process should be made to be COMPLETELY transparent to their expenses (for the purpose of providing related services) and should operate on, at most, a 10% operating margin (again, for the purpose of providing related services). Prices should be negotiated in good faith by both parties every 3 years. If Verisign does not agree to this, then I'm sure there would be MANY companies who would be willing to take their place given the sheer amount of revenue involved. A quick way to solve this problem would be for ICANN to facilitate a .COM manager selection process every 7 years, and then we'll see what prices Verisign proposes. Thank you, Tom

To Whom it May Concern, I am a registrant of a number of .com domain names, all of which are critical to my business. Some of those domains are the titles of my 6 books published by McGraw-Hill. Other domain names I own relate to my speaking/training business and my online class. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. No one other than Verisign want increases in .COM prices. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry – it has no business dictating the price. To whom it may concern, I am a registrant of several personal and business .com domain names. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. An increase of 30% may seem small on an individual level, but could hurt the small business owner and individual with little disposable income. To keep accessibility and access available to the widest audience please do not increase prices. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry – it has no business dictating the price. ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public interest. Please take the opinions of valid internet business owners and individuals and do not increase the .COM prices over 30% over the next 2 years. I am a registrant of a .com domain name and I'm against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. If the cost to maintain the .com registry is less than $3 per domain per year and consumers are already paying double that cost, I see no reason why consumers should pay an increased price to buy a .com. Especially if Verisign already enjoys exclusive rights without a competitor. Thank you for your time and I hope you reconsider the price hikes. Sincerely, Jaime Mendoza Monterey Park, California United States

I use the Internet but I am not a .com registrant. As I am entering the field of web development, I do not wish to see the acquiring of domains become a monetary barrier to the field as prices continue to hike. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. No one other than Verisign want increases in .COM prices. The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. by Joel Sember Feb. 10, 2020

Dear ICANN, I am a registrant of a .com domain name. This TLD has been around since the beginning of the internet. It is not a special-interest TLD but a basic part of providing service to all. The The current rate of $7.85 is already more than other basic and country TLDs. The public has an interest in reserving some basic domain names that are affordable to all, and not turning the internet registration system into a for-profit enterprise. Please deny Verisign's petition. Joel Sember Green Bay, Wisconsin United States -- Sent from Postbox <https://www.postbox-inc.com>
