With the recent announcement regarding potential price increase for .COM domains, as an entrepreneur I am voicing my concern. Please take into consideration the negative effect a price increase will have on the vast majority of entrepreneurs who rely heavily on marketing through .COM. I am a registrant of a .com domain name. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. No one other than Verisign want increases in .COM prices. The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry - it has no business dictating the price. Hello, I feel that the proposed amendment is counterintuitive, as it will allow .COM prices to skyrocket in the coming years, making the internet space more difficult and unattainable to individuals. The internet is a collection of information that should be free to use and access, not only for users, but also for creators. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains We already lost the beloved .DEV to Google, which made ".dev" domains public at about $150/yr earlier last year We don't want this to happen again with .COM. It is important that ".com"s remain accessible to individuals, start-ups and small businesses.

The proposed amendment seems to violate the spirit of the Internet and the ideas underpinning the creation of the Web. I wholeheartedly oppose the direction you and Verisign are taking , which will only make it harder for small companies to compete with the commercial overlords.
