We can't understand how you can increase the price of domains so much. A domain is just a domain why make it pay more? The price of the .COM is already high, compared to that of the ccTLD. It is the most used gTLD, prices should go down not go up. The Internet belongs to everyone and you cannot influence the business of thousands of companies so much. As the leaser (no one can own anything anymore) of domain names. If I don't pay my taxes and in this case, my ransom, my domain name is taken away. With no input to the original decisions made, I can only submit my serfs opinion to the king (ICANN/VERISIGN).Please consider the impact of this amendment and the effect to will have on the other serfs under the rule of the king. As always, I know this will fall on deaf ears and the king will bid his will on the serfs as it has been throughout the ages. But I ask again to please reconsider the impact this will have on people that don't have the means to afford the rising costs of domains. I am currently in Africa, where in this country, the largest economy in Africa, the average wage is $2-3US a day - if one can find work. Yet, there are many here that have a dream of owning a business. I ask you how can someone in this position ever hope to achieve their hopes and dreams with the continued rising costs that further separate the have's from the have not's? Please do the right thing for at least once in your life and consider others, not just yourselves and what you have to gain. Consider what others have to loose. Regards, David

The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry – it has no business dictating the price. What can I say about the .com price increase? Nobody likes a price increase on any service they use. I don't want .COM domain name price increase, especially without consulting or incorporating feedback from the ICANN community or Internet users. That's not cool!

It does not feel like ICANN is looking after the interests of its users at all. The proposed increases come across as monopolistic price gouging. Domain registration is a highly-automatable business and should therefore have a very low cost base. ICANN should rather use competitive market forces to keep prices low and service levels high, by putting the .com domain registration operations up for tender for fixed multi year periods. Dear ICANN, I am concerned about how this amendment to the Registry Agreement will affect me and any other entity who would like to buy a .COM top-level domain. My concern is that Verisign will be allowed to increase the wholesale price to registrars for .COM domains by 7% each year in 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023; and then again during 2026-2029, and continuing into the future. I am worried that within 10 years, .COM domains could cost approximately 70% more than the current wholesale price of $7.85. Since it is likely that most of these increases will be paid by domain name registrants I am understandably concerned. I personally own several domain names and plan to buy more as ideas and time passes by, and I do not want to see that access restricted. Additionally, this would limit startups and other small organizations from purchasing domain names that are vital to their success. Ultimately, I think you will see a large migration away from the .COM top-level domain if you do not do something to address these issues. Best, Carson
