There is no need to raise .com registration fees. You have plenty money as it is just use it more efficiently and stop trying to line your pockets. ICANN is supposed to be seen protecting the interest of the consumer and not conniving with her partners to give consumers a tough life. ICANN, please maintain your integrity and serve your purpose. We say no to removal of price cap on .COM We say no to removal of price cap on .ORG We say no to removal of price cap on .INFO We say no to removal of price cap on .BIZ We say no to removal of price cap on all TLDs We say no to the sales of PIR to Ethos Capital by Internet Society. Lack of openness and transparency and accountability in the new contract is very disappointing. Also the ability to raise prices without accountability or appropriate restriction will cause negative changes in long term damage to the internet as we know it. Please don't! Jessie

I am a registrant of a .com domain name. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. No one other than Verisign want increases in .COM prices. The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry – it has no business dictating the price. I admit the price of domain names has remained relatively cheap since they were opened up to individuals many years ago. However, I believe that increasing the price of domain names makes the barrier to entry too high and cause harm to the internet as a whole over the next 10 years. With more people turning to “free” services instead of creating their own Web presence, they will be more beholden to the interests of the companies who build these networks on top of the Web. This will continue to give more power to companies who will increasingly dictate what is shared and with whom. Please keep domains affordable for all so the Web itself can continue to flourish. ICANN, I am strongly against the new ICANN's domain name system initiatives. If you continue with the exobanent increase in costs as indicted in what ICANN is planning to do over the next 10 year. I will be forced to not renew my current 100+ domains. IMHO these types of economical moves will lead to a worldwide depression. Then you'll have nothing. To whomsoever it may concern, Please reconsider the recent amendment allowing Verisign to charge more for wholesale domain registration. .com domains are extremely valuable for individuals and companies as an outlet for displaying their views online and by increasing the price of access, ICANN will be directly responsible for reducing access to free and unrestricted speed online. This goes against the original tenets of the Internet and will help usher in a more centralized and non-diverse internet different from the one we all have benefited from for the past few decades. I strongly urge you to reconsider your part in this undesirable change by passing this recent amendment and hope you will work to swiftly revert the decision. Warm regards, Gaurav Hirlekar
