I've recently learned about the proposed amendment 3 and I'm outraged at the lack of transparency and honesty surrounding this deal. This decision will affect millions of people, and yet there seems to be no discourse among those people. This makes you appear to be acting in bad faith. What will you do to counter those optics? Or...do you not care because you'll be stuffed to the gills with cash from Verisign? Please do better, ICANN.

Last month, ICANN, announced significant changes to the contract it has with Verisign, Inc. ICANN made these changes in secret, without consulting or incorporating feedback from the ICANN community or Internet users. This cannot continue, it is outrageous!

I am a registrant of a .com domain name. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. No one other than Verisign want increases in .COM prices. The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry – it has no business dictating the price. ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public interest. Darrien Boling San Diego, CA, USA
