I oppose this indiscriminate increase of prices for .com tlds. I have several domains registered and are being gauged by money hungry resellers who have no interest other than making more and more money. They already make more than enough from charging exorbitant prices for so called "premium" domains which are nothing but domain hogging by the same people who are supposed to be out of the process of domain registration and ideas.

I'm writing to Express concerns with the Verisign/ ICANN deal. There seems to be a lack of transparency and oversight about the $20M being paid by Verisign to ICANN. It's also concerning that ICANN will allow Verisign to operate as a registrar. Allowing them to have more control and the ability to further raise prices. I think there should be a period of time for additional review of the deal and voices of domain investors and website operators to be heard. Thanks in advance for your consideration. Hi, Its a shame what. Greedy world we live one, you follow the same path here "ICANN made these changes in secret, without consulting or incorporating feedback from the ICANN community or Internet users. Although ICANN has a history of making similar deals behind closed doors, and also of ignoring unified opposition against such action, we are focused on leading the fight against price increases that will harm our customers (and the Internet as a whole). This is a crucial time to raise our voices given that *.COM domains make up 40% of all registered domain names online*." and "Alongside these contract changes, *Verisign agreed to pay ICANN an additional $20 million dollars over five years to support* ICANN's domain name system initiatives, without any clarity about how ICANN will spend the money, or who will ensure that the funds are properly spent on domain infrastructure." Some how, someone will, break you business with a another way to use another type of domain. You are playing a game that you can not win, keep it low and fair. Good luck 🤞 Regards

Dig the history and you will know, Monopolies are dangerous for the businesses and consumers, That always brings the revolution. What ICANN is doing is something like that. Finding things costly, people will start looking for a better alternate and a day come where you have to decrease the price again to be in competition, but till than you will have lost your monopoly state.

Hi, Please do not allow Verisign to increase the wholesale price to registrars for .COM domains every year for 8 out of the next 10 years. Small businesses like my own may not be able to afford to maintain a website. I am writing to express my strong opposition to proposed amendment 3. This is a threat of the highest order to an open, accessible, and free internet for all! This amendment will clearly benefit ICANN, Verisign, and large corporations and copmanies for whom the price increase will have no impact, while dramatically hurting and impacting individuals, small businesses charities, non-profits, and other life saving and essential services and programs. ICANN was set up, in part, to create competition between domain name registrars, but ICANN is now at the center of the problem, without considering any input from Internet users on these critical decisions and subverting their voices. These increased prices will absolutely be passed on to the consumer. To think any differently is to be ignorant of the reality we live in. Verisign is getting a real sweetheart of a deal here that will result not only in them practically being able to write their own profit sharing checks, but will destroy any competition among registrars that currently exists, since the new contract would allow Verisign to operate as a registrar, with loopholes for them to also sell .COMs through another registrar. ICANN has ignored thousands of comments, input, and disparate cries from the public, worldwide to not force this money-grabbing, freedom destroying proposal through. 95% of the work I do as a web developer and graphic designer is pro bono work for non-profits, charities, and other amazing organizations doing amazing work. I work for these very worth causes for free because I know how tight there budgets are and how little extra there is for overhead, like a custom website with e-commerce functionality. These price increases will have a dramatic and chilling affect on these charities and non-profits, who already operate on shoe string budgets. Additionally, this will have a chilling affect on individuals and small businesses who run on tight budgets or operate websites as a hobby or special interest. Millions of people around the world have the amazing opportunity to impact their communities, friends, family, and regions because buying a domain name and setting up a website is within their reach. ICANN and Verisign are on a path to scorched earth for all of these people, small businesses, and charities and non-profits that rely on ICANN to do the RIGHT thing for the public for which is was created to benefit, support, and enrich. But this proposed amendment 3 has been created and is intending to be rammed through to enrich and line the pockets of ICANN, Verisign, and large corporations and industries with literally no thought for everyone else or the good of the world. Do not push this amendment through!

I oppose Amendment 3 to the .COM Registry Agreement. I believe that allowing wholesale prices for .com domains to rise 72% over 12 years, which is far more than the rate of inflation and also far more than Verisign's underlying costs of maintaining the registry could possibly increase by, will dramatically hurt the internet ecosystem. It will especially hurt small website operators, like myself, and will discourage internet users from creating blogs and personal pages, with the end result of reducing democratization of the internet. Verisign reported a 69.4% operating margin in Q1 2019, so they clearly do not need the extra revenue from this price hike. ICANN has granted a monopoly over .com to Verisign and ICANN has a duty to every internet user on the planet to carefully regulate this monopoly to prevent abuse by Verisign. The only conscionable thing to do right now is to freeze wholesale .com prices and re-evaluate 5-10 years from now. A policy that allows price increases tracking the rate of inflation (but no higher) may make sense in the future, but right now Verisign is already collecting far more from their .com monopoly than any company would be able to in a competitive market [1]. It's simply not right to allow them to raise prices at this time. I further suggest that Verisign should be removed as the authority for the .com domain and such a control should be handed over to a NON-PROFIT concern, if ICANN doesn't want to handle it itself.
