I disagree with the proposal for changes to the billing for .com addresses, because there is no restriction on how the new money from verisign will be spent. Please consider revising the proposal to clearly indicate how the new money will be used to re-invest in the domain infrastructure Justin Gray

ICANN, Please adopt price controls on .COM and other original TDLs. I run a small web development & hosting company part-time and many of the sites I build are for disadvantaged and/or low-income persons who are using their domains to promote small business efforts. These are yoga instructors, independent contractors, seniors, students, artists and musicians -- all of whom enjoy the legitimacy of having a dedicated space on the Internet to promote themselves and their contributions to society. I enjoy giving them something to be proud of. I often treat my web development company like a charity and eat a lot of the costs, specifically, I maintain ownership of the domains so my tech-illiterate clients don't have to be bothered with the burden of keeping them registered (for example, a friend lost her domain name and it took three years to get it back). Some of these domains I've had for nearly 20 years, a long time since I received payment for the web site they still use. The slow creep of prices is making it difficult to continue what I think is a valuable service to my community. This year is the first time I have released domain names because I can't afford it. These domains, if my clients allow them to expire, will be basically gone forever, swallowed up by domain squatters and ransomed off. Please help me continue to make the Internet a place for everyone, not just giant corporations. Please adopt price controls on common TLDs. Thank you, Brian Hilmers

I’m writing to share my comments regarding the price increases that will occur due to the ICANN contract changes with VeriSign. As a fine artist, I have a .com website that I use to publicize my paintings. My income from my painting career is limited, however the time I put into this career path is immense, and my website is one of my main ways of communicating my work to potential viewers, gallerists, and peers. It’s my way of maintaining a conversation with other artists and sharing the work that I do. The kind of price increases that are guaranteed to occur because of this revised contract have me severely worried, because a major increase to the cost of my domain would force me out and inhibit my ability to communicate with my peers and to grow my career. I strongly urge icann to reconsider these changes and to think about domain users like me with limited funds but extensive cultural impact. Thank you for your time. Public comment: Many .com holders are people with personal sites like myself from the early days of the internet. We would not appreciate an unreasonable and unregulated price increase and do not feel it is acceptable. This move would be a slap in the face to the public at large and it must not be permitted.

Hi, I believe the proposed changes are against the interest of netizens. Internet companies shoud serve individuals. Making deals that could increase price of owning a space online hurt the cause of digital community. This deal could increase price of .com domains by over 70 percent in the next 7 years. This will create problems especially for small business owners the world over. I request that any deal that harms the interest of the online community should be revoked. The thought of the price increase alone put pressure on us the users, and now we dont only have to think about how to do the work that helps grow our website but also worry about how to pay up at the end of the year or month... Keep in mind there's a reason we choose the cheaper name and that is so we can afford to pay. I plead on behalf of the thousands of people still trying to find their balance on the internet, please do not make this increase, it will just push people to divert to illegal effort to meet up, or even drop their website because they can't afford it
