Hello, I am writing to express my dismay with the price increases being proposed under the new contractual arrangement with Verisign. ICANN is a not-for-profit entity setup with the view to acting in the public interest. I fail to see how the public interest includes increasing the fees being charged so that Verisign can increase its prices many fold more than the additional licensing fees they will be paying to ICANN. Have ICANN included additional measures to ensure a competitive tension is maintained within the current arrangements? The absence of these pressures will lead to gouging by suppliers and increase the spectre of impropriety. Regards, Damon.

As a student an aspiring small business owner I have seen how demanding and difficult it can be to get your business started and growing. The price increases that are to come of these new changes will directly be affecting small business owners who are already struggling to compete with the big companies who can afford to pay any price without taking a financial it. I also find it unfair and unacceptable that Verisign can choose to abruptly raise up prices in this market strictly just to make more profit. This is a great example of reform that is taking more power from the people and giving to big companies.

I live in a debt ridden country and still holding down a full time job long after I should be retired. Now as I try to build a side internet income you are planning to increase the price for .com domain names that I have to pay yearly! Let the common man keep a few dollars in his pocket!!
