I am a registrant of a .com domain name. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. No one other than Verisign want increases in .COM prices. The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry – it has no business dictating the price. ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public interest.

This move is very monopolistic and anti-competitive and such a move invites a legal challenge by governments investigating such practices. the way the .com price increases have been manipulated into place. how does one get away with this without regulation! someone needs to sue, class action or similar. thats how I feel about what is happening and I am not the only one!

Hi, It is unfair to raise .com prices, as websites that already have them have to continue to pay to renew unless they want to abandon their site. It would decrease site quality and spammers would take over the web buying sites that owners may no longer be able to pay for and keep up. Raising the prices would not accomplish anything except hurt those who already have .com's. Stacy
