Hello, It seems to me that this establishes preferential favors to one company (Verisign) without allowing other companies to fairly compete. In addition the potential price increases seem to have no valid justification. I oppose this agreement. Susan Schallberger

I am writing to say I strongly oppose Proposed Amendment No. 3 to the .COM Registry Agreement (Amendment 3), and accompanying framework for ICANN org and VeriSign, Inc. (Verisign). This is a shameful, shady backroom deal that should never have been proposed. This so-called "deal" is nothing but Verisign paying a $20M bribe to ICANN so Verisign can engage in price-fixing and other corrupt practices. The proposed amendment perverts the idea of free and fair market competition, and harms both independent domain registrars as well as the consumers who do business with them. NO to Amendment #3!! I strongly object to the current agreement negotiated in secret between ICANN and Verisign to increase domain name prices after ignoring the large amount of opinion to this action from internet users. As the owner of a large number of .COM domain names, I will be significantly personally impacted by these unwarranted price increases that amount to price gouging of internet consumers. ICANN was created in part to introduce competition between domain name registrars, but now you plan to generate insanely high profits by using your monopoly position against the best interests of all internet users. I demand you take all previous comments on this issue into account and cancel this outrageous, price gouging action. I am extremely disappointed but not at all surprised given the rampant and unchecked greed and corruption in our government and bodies like it that there is a proposal to increase costs to consumers like me for some unspecified enhancements. The summary justification was bullshit too, things have become “dynamic”? Please. If anything the amount of .coms has increased and the cost and effort to maintain has decreased. I hope this gets shut down but I’m sure it won’t with President Toddler in office and all his greedy company running things.

To whom it may concern, The proposed future changes that ICANN will implement will hurt small businesses especially with increasing prices especially with the possibility of no ceiling or caps. The current system works and to go against it is anti competitive and would make owning a domain name available to only those who can afford it. Dear ICANN, I am concerned about the amendments to the Registry Agreement because it will affect, not just me, buy any individual who would like their own domain name. I am 100% sure that no corporation will object to the 28% cost increase every six years as they earn money off their domain name and paying almost any amount would be acceptable to them. However, there are a great deal of small businesses, such as mine, that would see this as an increased burden. Further there are many individual users that have purchased their own domain name and are using it for personal use, not commercial use. Some of us have multiple domain names, if for no other reason than to protect our own names from being used to run a website. The .com TLD should remain affordable and available to a wide range of users. It seems these increases will cripple a lot of new .coms and stop the growth of the business which is needed to have strong economies. I for one am against these increases. It is hard enough to get started in this time and age with all the increase and regulations put forth by the so-called regulators and policy elites.
