I oppose the removal of price caps on the .COM tld. I also oppose the contract changes which allow Verisign to operate as a registrar. With these changes, there is a clear path to allow Verisign monopolise the retail sales of .COM domains. It is clear from previous tld contract changes, (eg: .ORG), that the most vocal advocates for the price cap removals and other contract changes, have had affiliations with Verisign. It is reprehensible that ICANN continually ignores the bulk of public comments opposing changes, while at the same time presenting a handful of advocates who have thinly disguised vested interests in seeing the changes approved. Whom it may concern, It is a disappointment to hear that you are looking at taking actions that would increase the cost of a domain name with a .com by 50% or better. I would believe that you have not done enough to find the right solutions unless you are just wanting to gaining a larger purse / war chest. I would say look for a different solutions and not make this your first choice. Stuart Baucom

I assume, much like with the .org increases, this email will be considered “spam” and disregarded. For two decades I have maintained multiple domains for both myself and friends. Typically, I pay the domain renewal fees for others. It is affordable and I’m happy to support others where I am able. With fees against .com domains opened up for increase, this will rapidly become an unsustainable financial burden for me and many like me. This sort of greed and corruption plagues all corners of our democracy. History will look back on the death of the .com domain era and remember the criminals that navigated us toward the end of freedom on the World Wide Web. This is class censorship and open support for the wealthy over the less fortunate. It is fascism disguised as capitalism intended only to line the pockets of those who hold the power. Without listening to the voice of the people you tear down everything that America once stood for. This spits in the face of the small business owner and the entrepreneur in the garage. No longer do we care about freedom, expression, and the true core of capitalism, innovation. Instead we crush it under the heel of fascism and greed. You have joined the ranks of others that have chosen to drive our nation toward destruction. Please, for the sake of liberty, for the preservation of capitalism and the power it brings to innovation, and for the freedom of all voices, stop these increases. Thank you for your time. Please do not proceed with this price increase. Many people with personal domains simply to own and control their personal email addresses do not make any profit from the .com domain and cannot afford needless price increases like this. I oppose Amendment 3 to the .COM Registry Agreement. Allowing wholesale prices for .com domains to rise 72% over 12 years will dramatically hurt the internet ecosystem. It will especially hurt small website operators, like me, and will discourage internet users from creating blogs and personal pages, with the end result of reducing internet availability and access to the poorest and most marginalized already. Verisign reported a 69.4% operating margin in Q1 2019, so they clearly do not need the extra revenue from this price hike. ICANN has granted a monopoly over .com to Verisign and ICANN has a duty to every internet user on the planet to carefully regulate this monopoly to prevent abuse by Verisign. The only conscionable thing to do right now is to freeze wholesale .com prices and re-evaluate 5-10 years from now. A policy that allows price increases tracking the rate of inflation (but no higher) may make sense in the future, but right now Verisign is already collecting far more from their .com monopoly than any company would be able to in a competitive market [1]. It's simply not right to allow them to raise prices at this time. Josh

Hello, I want to go on record opposing the amendment. Doug Barbieri PS: Of course, maybe it's a good thing you're doing with this. If you drive prices up really high, that will open up the door to competing options, such as a blockchain based solution to domain name registration. We need to get away from this centralization of something vital to the internet ecosystem, and put ICANN on the chopping block.

This will mean that .COM wholesale domain prices can grow by more than 70% over and above current prices over the next decade. The contract also allows for other price increases, which could drive prices up further, ultimately making .COM domains less accessible and more expensive for everybody. Last month, you announced significant changes to a new contract agreed to with Verisign, Inc. This agreement allows for the possibility for .com domain prices to grow by an astronomical 70% including price increases in other areas. The internet is a part of the commons and should not be a part of the feeding trough for extreme greed and depravity! secret, backdoor deal was done without consulting or incorporating feedback from the ICANN community or Internet users. This will not be tolerated and the back lash will be more than you would ever want to handle! ICANN you have done this before and enough is enough, these kinds of dishonest dealing is no longer acceptable. Harmful behaviour towards the internet community will no longer be something taken lying down. Beware the hell to pay!
