Hello, I am writing to on the position of opposing amendment No. 3. Domain names should be something that are run purely for profit and should be run with public interest in mind. Increasing the cost for no reason listed besides financial gain is a waste of time and should have no been considered. ICANN was made to govern the domain name system for public interest. Dear Madam, or Sir, I am very concerned about this amendment to the Registry Agreement because it will affect the everyday man and not the corporations. The small business, the guy who buys and uses a few domains are the ones affected, corporations...nah. As per usual, theses type of changes make the rich richer and poor poorer. You will be eliminating an opportunity for the lower to middle class folks that might need the domain for their own small business, or to even collect a dozen or so names in the hope that one or two grow in value. Who it will not impact are the big guns, the money people, the rich....you know, the ones who have the funds to invest and turn every dollar into 2 or way more. Find a way to protect small businesses, small domain owners and ok, but what you will create is not like what is being created across the board...the elimination of opportunity for the less well off as they sit and watch the rich get richer. As a private individual and small business owner, I have a few .COM domains. The proposed increase in the wholesale price of .COM domains seems entirely unjustified. As a software professional, I know how bandwidth and compute prices have been moving, and this increase of well beyond inflation strikes me as a money grab based on having a captive audience. Kevin

Good afternoon, It has been brought to my attention that there will be potential price increases to .COM domains in the near future. I am appalled that such a stance has been taken behind closed doors without any regard for the community of digital entrepreneurs whom seek to keep access to all domains an even and level playing-field. Furthermore, it is unfortunate that a deal of such magnitude was agreed upon without any input and suggestion given from the community which ICANN serves. It is my sincerest hope that an equitable decision benefitting all participants in the industry be made justly and swiftly. Thank you, OAO

I am writing to oppose the proposed amendment 3. Allowing for substantial price increases in .com domain names will limit accessibility to the internet as a whole. It will hinder anyone who relies on domain for income, and it will further exacerbate the corporatizion of the web. I understand the need to raise funds, but it should not be done without a clear and concise plan for how those funds should be spent to better the internet community as a whole. Best, Jenna Pinkham
