To whom it may concern, .com domain names are considered particularly reputable by end users, a drop in accessibility caused by a price increase will affect the ability for small teams and individuals to enjoy the benefits of the .com domain's recognition. The above would serve to produce an even more uneven playing field which works against the original goals of the web. I appose the suggested changes to the com domain pricing model. I am a registrant of a .com domain name. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. No one other than Verisign want increases in .COM prices. The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry – it has no business dictating the price. ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public interest.

I am concerned about this amendment to the Registry Agreement because it will affect, not just me, buy any individual who would like their own domain name. I am 100% sure that no corporation will object to the 28% cost increase every six years as they earn money off their domain name and paying almost any amount would be acceptable to them. However, there are a great deal of small businesses that would see this as a burden as well as individual users out there that have purchased their own domain name and are using it for personal use, not commercial use. Many people have multiple domain names, if for no other reason than to protect our own names from being used to run a website. Please keep the annual fee very low or consider a more flexible charging system for the .COM top level domain that will keep it accessible to individuals and small businesses. I understand that there is supposed to be an increase in the ".com" pricing. I really wish this wouldn't go into effect. It would only limit newcomers from trying to get online and seen. So please don't put this into affect. Crossing my fingers, Willis

I thought the purpose of the internet was for freedom of communication for everyone. How does increasing the price of domain names (thereby making them less accessible to everyone) achieve that? Is the internet for the few or for the many?
