[Comments-com-amendment-3-03jan20] Proposed Amendment 3 to the .COM Registry Agreement
by Yuri Demchenko Feb. 7, 2020

Feb. 7, 2020
I am a registrant of a .com domain name. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. This is common technology trend to decrease infrastructure services. Let VeriSign to improve their infrastructure. ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public interest. I am a domain investor I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. It’s far too high. No one other than Verisign want increases in .COM prices. The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry – it has no business dictating the price. ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public interest. Braden Pollock Woodland Hills

No one other than Verisign want increases in .COM prices. The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. Their cost is something in the order of under 25c a domain giving close to a 100% profit. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry – it has no business dictating the price. ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public interest. Gordon Martin Edmonton, Alberta Canada

[Comments-com-amendment-3-03jan20] Proposed Amendment 3 to the .COM Registry Agreement
by Tim Johnston Feb. 7, 2020

I am a domainer (I invest in domain names as a business) or am associated with the secondary market, I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified and the average price of managing the infrastructure must certainly be diminishing over time... Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry - it has ABSOLUTELY no business dictating the price. ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public - not corporate greed or profit. Tim Johnston Cambridge, Massachusetts United States

[Comments-com-amendment-3-03jan20] Proposed Amendment 3 to the .COM Registry Agreement
by Michael Deutsch Feb. 7, 2020

I have registered several domains, which I use for personal emails and business purposes. The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified, as other companies would almost certainly be bidding at a lower price for the rights to maintain the .com registry if permitted to do so. Giving one company a monopoly is bad enough, but potentially authorizing increases far in excess of inflation or their costs is truly offensive.   You represent the public's interest.  Please do your job.  Taking a little bit more from a lot of people and giving it all to a company that has a monopoly just doesn't make sense. I am/have been/will be a registrant of a .com domain name. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry – it has no business dictating the price. ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public interest. What is the purpose of having ICANN AT LARGE when public interests are not considered in the decision making? Said Zazai Mississauga, Ontario Canada

[Comments-com-amendment-3-03jan20] Proposed Amendment 3 to the .COM Registry Agreement

I am a .com registrant and am associated with the secondary market. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. No one other than Verisign wants increases in .COM prices. The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry - it has no business dictating the price - and already makes profits at current price levels in excess of the operating needs to maintain a registry. ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public interest. The public has a vested interest in reasonably priced domain registrations to foster innovation on the internet and allow the individuals to maintain a presence on the web. I am a registrant of over 1500 .com domain names. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. This would have a negative effect on my business and STRONGLY oppose this move. No one other than Verisign want increases in .COM prices. Other GTLDS have been able to lower costs. The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry - it has no business dictating the price. ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public interest. Joshua ten Brink San Jose
