Dear Madame or Sir, I understand your amendment will hurt my pocket book, so please do not make my use of the internet more expensive. I trust you to do everything in your conscience to instead LOWER the cost of communicating data along the web. When you fly to Singapore to sign a deal, you walk from hotel to office building, reading the street signs at each corner so as not to get lost. Do you pay the people of Singapore a tax to orient yourself to YOUR personal place? Free communication! The taxpayers have installed those tools at their expense so that YOU can do your work freely. COMMON sense. Like the air you breath for which I do not charge you service fees, free the registrar-ISP cartel from having to see where we are all going about our way. I am against this style of price increase. This just raises the prices indefinitely forcing small websites to give up their domains with the constant price increases and raising the barrier to entry.

Please reconsider taking actions that appear blatantly unscrupulous. I am opposed to the agreement you worked out with Verisign that will increase .com prices over the next decade or more. I work with a small not-for-profit. We purchase the .com version of our address so we will not have another business camped out next to our .org site offering something that would be an issue for our organization. To have to pay significantly more for that is not easy for us. To Whom It May Concern: I oppose proposed amendment 3 to the .COM Registry Agreement. Verisign, a public company, should not have the ability to unilaterally raise prices on .COM registration, especially if they stand to profit from those price increases. .COM, like the rest of the TLDs, should be operated and managed as a public good, not as a means to squeeze money out of people and organizations who rely on the internet, so that a private company can increase their profits and share price. Hello, I have some domains for my hobbies, for my wife and for my kids. These small increases are absolutely going to make a difference for me. I just let about 8 expire out of about 18... If you go ahead with these price increases, you will be losing some domain renewals from me and killing some of my hobbies for certain, perhaps some of my kids hobbies. We make no money from them at this time. If you push people off of .COM's, you'll inevitably shift power to other domains outside of your control. .COM's are still special, but the saturation of other domains, when fueled by expensive .COMs will overshadow .COMs. I specifically don't buy most of those special domains because they're too expensive. Hello there, This is a comment regarding small business and the proposed amendment. With .com now being the standard and have strong demand, I totally get your motivation in increasing the prices: fewer .com domain available, good notoriety and more people interested. However, please do not forget small company who own .com domain. We are a small business and back in 2007, we chose a .com domain (instead of .ca). We could have chosen a .ca (but it's two late now), but we didn't. It is now sad to see that ICANN want's to take a decision that will harm a lot of small business that have a limited budget for their online presence, even if it is those small businesses who contribute to make .com domain popular. I hope ICANN will not abuse its power at the expense of the small companies that have contributed to its success. Thank you, Marie-Anne Nonyme

I do not agree with the Proposed Amendment 3 to the .COM and I do not agree with this unilateral decision about Verisign will be allowed to increase the wholesale price to registrars for .COM domains every year for 8 out of the next 10 years, and the increases don’t stop there. They must take customers into account, the internet belongs to everyone. The way they are handling the situation is also advantageous. We demand that the proposal not proceed as it can harm us economically, now and in the future. This proposal must be analyzed and agreed with the entire internet community. Giving VeriSign a monopoly on the .COM domain registration and relaxing the price freeze is a slap in the face of every user of the Internet. Hello ICANN, This is my personal letter to your organization and im totally against increase of the .com domain names price! I think, there is millions of people, who will be totally agree with me and its wouldn’t make the good thing on a market. Instead of this, is better to keep the market on a same level as it is, because anyway is more and more people using the internet around the world and try to get nice names for the business. The biggest problem, that brokers need to release the domains, what they holding for sale for too many years, that people can book their dream domains with .com and with names they want, instead taking names .net /.org /.eu with their dream names.
