Dear Sir/Ma'am, Many of us own several domains which may or may not be commercial purposes. I purchase domains to protect my name and domains for my family members. An increase in price may or may not mean much to large corporations but for individual domain owners and enthusiasts, this is a huge deterrent. We should be encouraging and empowering more individuals to use the internet and secure a domain for a fun new project they may be working on. It should not feel like a financial burden. I grew up in a poor country where my father earned a few dollars a day. Buying a domain for a business that I wanted to start was a big investment that I needed to consider a lot before doing. I believe that expensive domains limit unfortunate people’s capabilities to be effective and have online presence or get out of poverty though opening a business, given that online business is easy to start than other business opportunities. Please don’t increase domains prices until poverty line of the world becomes a domain price in a day

For whom may it concern, I am against the price change for .com domain name change as; 1.we are running our business in South Asian countries and price increase is unbearable for slow growing businesses 2.public used to .com and there is more chance the website will not reach its audience if .com is changed However, if there is a method to increase the price based on the traffic and revenue a website generates i would support this change. Verisign agreed to pay ICANN an additional $20 million dollars over five years to support ICANN's domain name system initiatives, without any clarity about how ICANN will spend the money, or who will ensure that the funds are properly spent on domain infrastructure. If you're not transparent, then you're corrupt, and have no mandate to execute your function. WE the citizens have the right to know EXACTLY what you're doing with our money, and who in your organization is being personally enriched by this. Stop this disrespectful and greedy behavior. There is no need to increase .com annual fees above that charged in 2012 as alleged. If anything, technology improvements should reduce the cost of domain name registry. Furthermore what I read of the proposed ICANN deal, it has all the trappings of a sweetheart backroom bribery deal where Verizon agrees to split done of their increased rate increases with ICANN. Any rate increases are outrageous, and rate increases without significant rational need are even more outrageous. To whom it may concern - I am writing regarding the proposed price increases for domains including .com domains. I as an individual, and many small businesses, rely on the web for work, and increasing the cost of domains makes the web increasingly inaccessible to everyone. The goal of the web is to democratize knowledge and information, and increasing barriers to that democratization is fundamentally against the nature of the web. I object to this proposed price increase for .com. The proposal is unfair and unreasonable, especially for those of us who are using domains for non-profit purposes and live in third-world countries. I read about the increasing prices of .com domains.... I hope you are actually considering consumer feedback and stop this initiative... I'm not happy with ICANN making this changes not considering users around the globe.. This will limit the adquisición of domains for people I different countries where 10 USD represents a weekly salary.

I am registrant of several .com domain names. Verisign just wants to jack prices for no benefit other than their own. The current rate of $7.85 is fine and does not need to be changed. ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public interest. Regards, Robert Barbieri

I'm writing to voice my opinion regarding .com agreement changes. Internet access is now a fundamental human right: it's impossible to function economically, socially, governmentally, and vocationally in society without it. For this reason, any plans to increase prices to domains should be minimized, as costs funnel down and will always impact the most vulnerable people the most. It will also contribute to disruption in the quality and availability of online services. You're in a position to be a shepherd of a fundamental societal tool, so please do not take advantage of this for your own financial gain. I currently have several .com domains that I utilize for personal/business reasons. I have invested in using those domains for over a decade. An increase in cost to utilizing the domain names that I have had for so long would be greatly detrimental and I'd have to go through great efforts if I were to switch to another top level domain since many of my services are tied to those domains. If renewal switched from say $10 a year to something unfeesible I'd no longer be able to justify keeping my domains. -- David Mitchell

I am the owner of several .com domains. I am a full-time student, an open source developer, and independent artist. An increase in .com pricing would disproportionately affect me and my peers. We rely on .com to give ethos to independent projects, which make sites more accessible to users who don't trust or understand vanity TLD's. Please help protect independence, open source, and accessibility by not raising the price of the .com TLD. Ben Schenerman
