Do not allow the proposed price cap increases. There is no technical or economic reason for price growth to exceed inflation other than greed. It's already difficult enough for internet entrepreneurs to start businesses without huge amounts of capital backing them. Don't add insult to injury by raising domain registration prices.

One of my objections it that there is no limit on how much the domain costs can be increased, and also ICAAN's lack of transparency on what they will do with the additional money. In a time of falling cloud compute price, and long term low inflation, I, a person with a degree in economics, see no reason to allow a monopoly to have an above inflation and cost of goods sold increase in price. I am voting against the amendment 3 .com domain because for several reasons as follows: *1. ICANN has made these changes in secret, without consulting or incorporating feedback from the ICANN community or Internet users.* *2. This **will harm us, the customers and the Internet as a whole.* *3. The main motto is to raise the **.COM wholesale domain prices by more than 70% over and above current prices over the next decade, which is unacceptable.* *4. **The contract also allows for other price increases, which could drive prices up further, ultimately making .COM domains less accessible and more expensive for everybody, which is also unacceptable.* *5. **These changes will have significant impact on the Internet for years to come, and only ICANN and Verisign have participated in this decision. Increasing .COM domain prices will simply stifle and suppress growth in the internet for no good reason. It's one of the dumbest proposals that I have heard. The price should be set to cover necessary costs, and only truly necessary costs, rather than attempt to profit from Verisign's monopoly position. I am a registrant of a .com domain name. Hi, I’m a small business owner, and when I say small, I mean SMALL! If prices go up on these domain names then I’m toast and I can simply say goodby to my spot in the internet at this point. I don’t own my e-commerce business for myself, it’s a platform for my father and my sister to sell their sculptures and earthenware ceramics. Is MONEY really more important to you than MILLIONS OF PEOPLE?? Living breathing working people. Verisign doesn’t own you, they may sponsor you a great deal, but they don’t own you. You can do better than this. There must be another option that has a better load for all parties involved, and that includes the consumers. Small pricing changes are acceptable, normal even. But the price increases that this would incur in the next year and especially within the next 6-10 years would be outlandish. I am appalled by ICANN's recent decision as a result of which Verisign can increase the wholesale price to registrars for .COM domains every year for 8 out of the next 10 years, resulting in .COM wholesale domain price growing possibly by more than 70% over and above current prices over the next decade.
