I am a registrant of a .com domain name. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. No one other than Verisign want increases in .COM prices. The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry – it has no business dictating the price. To ICANN, I am a small business person and own about 50 domain names. I am perplexed by your proposed changes to the .COM agreement. These will have a much bigger impact on the Internet than the previous action for .ORG, .INFO, and .BIZ domains, due to the dominance of .COM. >From my perspective, you are removing my advantage as a small business person of level playing field online in comparison to the titanics of industry. Why?? Do you need more money badly enough to add this burden to businesses already struggling to be competitive. Please consider rescinding your plan to steadily increase the fee for .COM domains. Any act to increase the price of .com domains will artificially increase the barriers to entry for any aspiring entrepreneurs, artists, businesses. Hello ICANN, As an Internet-focused MSP that manages hundreds of customers servers and thousands of domains I am extremely concerned by this proposal and the limited number of parties that came up with it -- namely Verisign and ICANN. This proposal represents, in my view, a catastrophic weakening of the rules designed to keep the domain system fair and affordable. I remember in the early 1990s when domains were hundreds of dollars per year to register simply because ONE company had a stranglehold on it (Network Solutions). Returning to this kind of absurd price gouging is not what the Internet needs in 2020. Especially when there is no clarify on where this money will be directed to and how it will be managed. Any change like this needs to come from a broad discussion, not just ICANN and Verisgn. Our entire industry and by extensions our customers will be affected by this. Do not negotiate the contract to allow verisign to increase prices of .com domains. The registry should not be used as a income generator but a public service to maintain a free(low barrier) and open internet. If the price increasing is allowed this will be just like big pharma raising prices drastically on drugs for the sake of proffits and all else be dammed.

To whom it may concern, As a business owner, and domain registrant since 1995, I support not only the proposed price increases, but would in fact encourage a significantly larger increase and much more rapidly - to the extent of an order of magnitude increase. I feel this would give large and immediate gains for the entire Internet and directly address some issues the DNS is seeing (and part of the reason for the proposal) by drastically reducing the load as superfluous registrations would be dropped, and likely the additional funding would more than offset such a drop in the load. I´ve been informed by my hosting company that prices Will increase, subtantially, over the next years. I strongly recommend Price increases to be sensitive, and that they should be within the boundaries and context of the LAW, but most importantly, their increases must be supported, and explained vs the value added benefits that are recieved. I consulted with my lawyer , and we Believe the Price increases must guard a relation with the increased benefits that the product has to offer so we strongly inform that I want to understand more about this deal with VeriSign, to fully asses the case wether to keep the existing domains. Hello, As a .com user i'm affected from your decision to increase the price for that domain. Also the way you are doing the hole agreement is unclear to me and many others. Why is needed such drastic increase in the next years ? You are obligated to provide more details and information to all users who are more than 40% of all in existence. Please give me more information about this increasment, why is needed and when is going to affect the current domains? If I already paid for the next 2 years will I be charged extra more ? Thank you.
