The internet is built on open standards and protocols, of which DNS is one of the original and most basic. There is no place for private back room deals in a service like this. It’s understandable that a service this old needs some updates and maybe even a larger overall, but this must stay open and in the public, not behind closed-door deals. This should be considered akin to a monopoly as a single company has control over the most popular top-level domain. Obviously and technical advances for any top-level domain should apply to all TLDs, so there is no valid reason Verisign and .com domains should be any different than others. Do not support this amendment.
