Hello, I think the rate of price increase for .com domains should be tied directly to cost of administration. DNS is essentially a public utility, and should be priced as such. The language of the amendment should reflect that. I don’t actually mind the 7% per year maximum, as long as the primary criteria for changing rates is tied to the actual cost. I like that Verisign will contribute $20 million to improve DNS security. And I like that work is being put into the RDAP protocol. It’s not explicitly stated, but I hope that RDAP can help make domain privacy “add ons” obsolete, and provide some of the same benefit by default.
