[Comments-com-amendment-3-03jan20] Comments regarding upcoming proposed .COM registration rate increase

Hello. I'm concerned about the proposed increase in .COM registration fees. There are approximately 144 million domains registered in the .COM TLD. At the current rate of $7.85, this means that Verisign is already raking in $1.13 billion a year just for issuing domain names. Given the infrastructure required to maintain such a system, this is tantamount to printing money. While domain registration is a relatively small cost in the grand scheme of things, it already has plenty of profit built in, and frankly, given the improvements in infrastructure over the past eight years, the price of a .COM registration should be less, not more, than it was in 2012.
