Increasing prices on the renewals is totally injustice. I have 6 .info domains. You must inform the customers before buying the domains. Now i have purchased the domains, then you are increasing the amount. Please drop the notice. If not possible, then please do this thing with the new domain buyers, please leave the old ones. If you increase the domain price then it will be too much for me to pay. Regards, Manav singh

I dont believe it is fair to remove the cap on pricing for domain names purchased, since they were purchased based on the price and with a business plan (or small personal cash) in mind. Increasing the prices by a small amount is fair to deal with the fact that prices do increase over time with inflation, but removing a cap seems like a bad and unsafe idea.

I see the potential for some pretty bad happenings without price controls in place for .org domains. As many .org users are non-profit or small organizations, the ability for registrars to arbitrarily raise rates to whatever they want poses a big problem from the standpoint of low initial "teaser" prices for the first year or two where the registrant invests in their site, marketing their site, and optimizing the site only to possibly get hit with a massive increase would leave them in an impossible situation to either pony up the cash that they may or may not have, or abandon all the hard work they put into their site. The .org is a tld that should be protected from exorbitant price increases and unscrupulous registrars looking to cash in on the prospect of a "sky's the limit" attitude towards renewals of folks who've already poured cash into their piece of the online world. Every dollar in our budget is precious. Our website is important to us for maintaining contact with our donor base and for soliciting operating funds. I cant find any justification or reasoning behind the proposal to uncap registry fees. Without such material, how can interested parties make comments that are relevant to the proposal? "ICANN is a not-for-profit public-benefit corporation with participants from all over the world dedicated to keeping the Internet secure, stable and interoperable." I do not understand how ICANN can achieve the above while allowing unrestrained price increases on millions of domain names, I am objecting the proposal of removing the price cap provisions in the current .info agreement. Instead, ICANN should actively seeking new providers who can lower the cost of the .info domain names and award the agreement to a winning bidder, for the public's benefit. An open, fair and competitive process should be taken to procure the .info domain name operator before renewing any agreement.
