Hello, It is critical that nonprofit organizations keep costs low and that publicizing a non profit on the internet through a .org website remains accessible. Increasing prices of .org websites will counter both of those important goals. To whom it may concern: I am a .org registrant. Aside from non profits, many .org domains are also used by hobbyists or for personal use (as mine). Unrestrained price increases would open up the possibility for a lot of people to be unable to afford their domain name. A negotiated 10% is acceptable as it allows for people to budget and nake decisions as necessary as opposed to basically having their domain yanked out from under them. Please oppose unrestrained price increases. Thank you. David Day

Hello, I’m a small business owner that has successfully employed dozens of employees and helped change lives simply by being able to do things relating to domains. Including buying them, selling them, building on them, etc. I think it would have been so much harder to get to where I am when I was starting out with no extra $ if I had to pay more just to get a domain name. Honestly, in my opinion everyone on the planet should be granted a domain name at least once in their life for free, but anyway…. I really believe it would be detrimental beyond what most people are even comprehending this (seemingly) small increase would have but I can speak to it first had that it will have a profound negative effect. I hope you all reconsider. Dear ICANN, I am a domain name registrant. ICANN does not seem to recognize the difference between a legacy extension created with the support of the US government, that predates the existence of ICANN and that has millions of existing users and the brand new extensions that started off with a new set of rules, in particular no price controls, and no existing registrants. They have completely different characteristics, history, and ownership structure. It is not acceptable for ICANN to ignore these differences and to propose that they be treated the same. Removing price caps is not fair to .org domain owners. Many of them have websites that they have used for years. If price caps are removed, the cost to renew their domain names may become too expensive, and they could be forced to give up websites that are important to them. The Uniform Rapid Suspension policy is too new and untested to apply on domain names that may be 20 years old or more. With the URS, the domain names could be taken down in a matter of days with little notice. ICANN should be doing more to protect owners of .org domain names. Why is ICANN trying to remove price protections for .org domain owners, so many of which are non-profits, so that they can be overcharged for their domain names?

As a small business owner, the website domain is central to our business. There absolutely needs to be a cap on what the renewal cost can be!! Especially when there is a monopoly on much of the process. Small business owners will be in jeopardy of loosing the web domain which is often central to their business. Olufemi 1.310.867.9261

Dear Sirs and Madams, Please do not remove the price caps on all .org, .info, and .biz top level domains. Such increases may later affect pricing on .com domains. This would make it difficult for small time registrars as myself to further participate. Than you for your consideration. Daniel Goldstein
