Unrestricted Price increase is not in the interest of the would wide web My registrar (Namecheap) notified me that the contract for the .org registrar is being renewed but that a cap on wholesale price increase is potentially being removed. I strongly believe that removing a cap on domain name wholesale price is against the best interest of the health of the web, and will affect the poorest and least privileged, disproportionately. Domain names are an ethereal product and their management and distribution is of minimal cost, taken in bulk; but their impact on individuals and organizations serving those individuals, particularly in the case of .org is personal and powerful. Please do not allow the .org domain names to become another land rush money grab.
