Dear colleagues (in particular the small team working on a response to the public comment period on draft Operating Standards for ICANN's Specific Reviews), Please note Lars's favourable reply below to our request for an extension to submit our comment after the GNSO Council January meeting. Your request to extend the public comment forum has been duly noted, and we are currently in the process to complete the formalities to have the public comment period for the operating standards extended until Friday 2 February 2018 23:59 UTC. An announcement will go out early next week on https://www.icann.org/news/ announcements to inform the wider community. Many thanks and do not hesitate to reach out should you have any additional questions/concerns. Very best. The GNSO Council's January meeting will take place during a face-to-face strategic planning session on Tuesday, 30 January. We are working towards developing Council's comments in due time for the document deadline for that meeting, with a view to putting them to a vote at the meeting. We would then require an additional few days to handle any administrative matters following on from the Council meeting to ensure that the version submitted is final and agreed per Council procedures. I hope that this request can be accommodated in view of the circumstances. With best wishes, Heather Forrest GNSO Chair
