Dear Councilors, Please find the action items, as stated during the meeting, below arising from the GNSO Council meeting held on Thursday, 18 July 2024. Please take note of the action items coming out of the Council meeting and the proposed timing for delivering on these actions. Please refer to this page for the recent status updates on the Action items. Please note that actions for all councilors are highlighted below. GNSO Council meeting on 18 July 2024 Item 3: Consent Agenda (5 minutes) GNSO PR Officer - Roles & Responsibilities Action Items: 1. The GNSO Council directs staff to post the GNSO Public Relations Officer Roles and Responsibilities on the GNSO Procedures page at: https://gnso.icann.org/en/council/procedures<https://gnso.icann.org/en/council/procedures.%5brequest> 2. The GNSO Council requests the GNSO Secretariat to inform Lawrence Olawale-Roberts he has been selected. Confirmation of GNSO nominees to the Pilot Holistic Review Action Items: 1. The GNSO Council directs the GNSO Secretariat to provide to the staff supporting the PHR the following names of the 7 GNSO Nominees for the PHR Team in order of rank: Anil Jain (AP), Sophie Hey (EU), Tony Holmes (EU), Akinmoyeje Benjamin (AF), Julf (Johan) Helsingius (EU), Caleb Ogundele (NA), and Marie Pattullo (EU). 2. The GNSO Council should advise the staff supporting the PHR Team that Hector Ariel Manoff should be considered an alternate nominee if any of the 7 nominees cannot serve in that role. Item 4: COUNCIL DISCUSSION - EPDP on Temporary Specification Phase 1 Urgent Requests (20 minutes) Action Items: 1. GNSO Council leadership will consider next steps, including a response to the Board that more work is needed and to request a discussion between the GNSO, the GAC, and the Board. 2. The GAC Communique Small Team to update the guidance on the issue of urgent requests in the response to the Board on the GAC Communique based on the discussion at the 18 July Council meeting. Item 5: COUNCIL DISCUSSION - Accuracy Check-in (20 minutes) Action Items: 1. GNSO Councilors to reach out to the constituencies to propose further ideas on level-setting and how to progress on the issue of data accuracy. 2. Council to send a call for volunteers to develop a letter to the GAC, which can then be referenced in the response to the Board on GAC Issues of Importance. 3. Staff to add this item to the Council August meeting agenda. Item 6: COUNCIL DISCUSSION - GNSO Review of GAC Communiqué (10 minutes) Action Items: See item 4 above. Item 7: COUNCIL DISCUSSION - Update from Small Team Plus on Singulars/Plurals (10 minutes) Action Items: GNSO Council leadership urges the Small Team to complete its work within a few weeks. Item 8: COUNCIL DISCUSSION - SubPro Small Team Supplemental Recommendations - Non-Adopted Recommendations (20 minutes) Action Items: GNSO Council leadership to consider a response to the Board on recommendation 18.1 and outreach to promote the recommendations that were adopted. Item 9: COUNCIL UPDATE - Intellectual Property Constituency Request for Reconsideration (10 minutes) Action Items: Greg DiBiase to develop a draft letter for the Small Team to review and subsequently share with Council for discussion at the August meeting. Item 10: Any Other Business (20 minutes) 10.2 - SPS Actions Follow-up Recommendations Report Public Comment Review Action Items: In response to the requests from GNSO Council leadership in emails on the list, GNSO Councilors did not provide specific proposals so these action items will be marked as completed.
