Wolf-Urich, that analysis is not quite correct. The GNSO is down 2, not 3, because Willie Currie resigned and was replaced by Carlos Affonso Pereira de Souza. Also, the ccNSO was stable with 2 representatives because Becky Burr resigned and was replaced by Chris Disspain. Also note that the Ex-Officio GAC seat (for the Chair or delegate) adds one to the GAC count. Last time it was Manal Ismail representing the GAC Chair. She was Vice-chair of the RT, so it was not just a nominal non-participating slot. Alan At 17/02/2013 04:37 PM, Wolf-Ulrich.Knoben@t-online.de wrote:
See the comparison attached. GAC and ALAC reps have been increased at the expense of GNSO and ccNSO, 1 SSAC was added. The total number of reps has been decreased by 1.

Wolf,
Yes, congratulations to Brian and Avri for sure.
And, agreed, for the Council / GNSO there are two possible takes from this:
1. That we need to work harder to secure greater representation next time. OR 2. That the balance was inevitably likely to shift in any case this time around given the current environment.
It would be interesting and illustrative to see a side-by-side comparison table of representation in ATRT1 & ATRT 2.

All,
Last time the GNSO insisted from the beginning of the selection process on 4 ATRT seats which has been confirmed before the final selection. This time we "hoped" more or less that the selectors would adopt the same structure. But the lesson learned now is: what's not written beforehand in stone doesn't count.
The next round may happen in around 2 years....

Hello All,
See:
http://www.icann.org/en/news/announcements/announcement-2-15feb13-en.htm
I see that two have been selected from the GNSO.
Avri Doria from the Non-Contracted party house, and Brian Cute from
the Contracted party house.
I gather last time that the GNSO had 4 people.
Regards, Bruce Tonkin
