Hello Kiyoshi, I hope the paper on the issues around new TLDs will be available by the meeting on 23 June. We can then cover this topic under item 5. Once the current sponsored round is complete - it would be particularly useful to get a paper from the staff (with Board input) on the difficulties faced by the staff and Board with this concept. What has happened to the commitment of staff to deliver a generic TLD report. We are now many meetings over due. I looked at Marias report. There is no indication of the long over due report, and we are within the 7 day period/requirement. I am very concerned. _____ From: owner-council@gnso.icann.org [mailto:owner-council@gnso.icann.org] On Behalf Of Bruce Tonkin Sent: Thursday, June 16, 2005 8:27 PM To: council@gnso.icann.org Cc: John Jeffrey Subject: [council] RE: Definition of Sponsorship Hello Kiyoshi, I hope the paper on the issues around new TLDs will be available by the meeting on 23 June. I agree that the "sponsorship" concept deserves a more complete discussion. Just for clarification, however, the White Paper makes no mention of "sponsorship." The concept post-dates the White Paper process (if you mean this White Paper: http://www.icann.org/general/white-paper-05jun98.htm).** I just want to make sure we're on the same page with Mr. Tsuru about what he is seeking.
