The RyC requests Cairo travel funding for Carolyn Hoover, Chief Executive Officer, DotCooperation LLC (.coop). Carolyn would not be able to attend the ICANN meetings in Cairo without travel funding assistance. She has been a consistent and constructive participant in ICANN policy matters within the RyC ever since dotCOOP joined the RyC many years ago, so we are very pleased that she will be able to participate in-person in Cairo. She is committed to actively participating in as many ICANN open meetings as possible and to especially represent the views of a small gTLD registry. Chuck Gomes
Chuck, just for clarification: the registry nomination for the highly limited travel funding which has been calculated based on the number of Council members is: NOT a Council member NOT a working group chair NOT active on a current Council working group. Is this correct ? Philip
That is correct Philip. It is fully in line with the ICANN Travel Procedure and also fully consistent with constituency positions publicly communicated by the RyC. Chuck, please explain how a non-council member, non-WG chair, non-WG member meets the travel policy guidelines which are: 1. "SO should receive funding, based on best meeting the policy-making needs of the entity". 2. "The SO can choose to support other constituency members based on what will best serve each SO's policy development work, e.g. working group members could be supported".
Philip, Please explain "how a non-council member, non-WG chair, non-WG member would not meet the travel policy guidelines." I will be glad to explain more on our call.
